1. LCD panel’s constitution

The main difference between TN type and STN type lies in the twisted angle. TN LC. has a twisted angle of 90 while STN LC’s twisted angle can have 90 - 270. With the change of twisted angle and different angle of polarizer film, STN panel can display yellow-green, blue and gray modes. TN panel has positive and negative features. STN panels are superior to TN panels in more duty cycles and excellent opto-electro functions.

Based on STN, FSTN panel has retardation films added to compensate the interfering color of STN so that a real black and white color could be realized. Different angle of retardation film can make different displays, i.e. positive, white background with black character; negative, black background with white character.

Holographic FSTN display is an FSTN display with an additional holographic film attached. Its display effect is more beautiful than FSTN and it has a higher photoelectrical parameters.

2. Flowchart for key process

3. A brief of main processes

1) Photolithography: forming electrodes in the form required on the ITO film

2) PI coating: evenly covering the surface of the glass with a layer of PI fluid

3) PI rubbing: rub the PI layer with fine cloth to form curves so that LC molecules can be arranged in them according to relevant requirement.
4) Screen printing and assembly: stick the up and down glass by screen print, seal them to form an empty cell

5) Scribe and break: cut assembled glass into small units to fill in LC
6) LC inspection: mix LC according to customers’ requirements such as driving condition, background etc.
7) LC injection and seal: fill LC into the empty glass gap then end seal it
8) Cleaning: clean the residue on the surface of glass
9) Light table, electrical inspection: on light table, check cosmetic, contamination and gap unevenness defects; drive to see if the panel display correctively
10) Sticking polarizer film: attach polarizer film to different LCDs.
11) Final inspection and reliability test: final test to make sure LCD meet customers’ requirements both in cosmetic and electrical aspects; reliability tests include high temperature and high humidity test, high temperature test, low temperature test, high and low temperature shock test, high temperature and high humidity test with electricity.
Through reliability tests, we assure the reliability of the products to meet customers’ requirements, products’ life cycle and the special requirements from customers.
